About Us

The First Tee of the Triad utilizes the game of golf to teach kids (Ages 7-18) essential character traits and valuable life skills. Our program hinges on The First Tee Code of Conduct: Respect for Myself, Others, and Surroundings. Using this as our cornerstone, kids participate in exciting and creative golf games that teach:

  • Core Values
  • Healthy Habits
  • Decision Making Skills
  • Goal Setting
  • Communication Skills
  • Proper Etiquette on and off the golf course.
  • Conflict Resolution

A majority of classes are held once-a-week (after school), during the spring and fall seasons.  The spring and fall seasons are both 8 weeks long.  Class times are 4:30 - 6:00 pm and we have convenient locations in Greensboro, Winston-Salem, Clemmons, Jamestown, High Point, Statesville, Salisbury, Thomasville  and Burlington.  In addition to after school classes, during the summer months we offer camps, one day clinics, tournaments and more.

All participants, regardless of age or golf skill start at the PLAYer (introduction) Level. There is also a teen program designed for 12 years and up. From there, participants can advance to higher levels (Par, Birdie, Eagle and Ace) based on their: age, attendance, successful completion of assessments, and the demonstration of Life Skills and Golf Skills covered throughout the program.
